Load of cuteness
Just thought it'd be fun to put Josiah in the laundry basket on the way to the washer the other day. It's the big tall one, so he kept trying to stand up as we were going. Silly boy!

Abigail has never been one to mind getting dirty, outside anyway. But recently she has discovered how to take some seeminly innocent mole holes and turn them into mud pits. Armed with a stick, her hands, and a watering can filled with water she goes to town. The funny thing is is that she says she making cat food. So she will add rocks, grass, "sugar", "vanilla" and then stir it all up. I pity the cat who every tries this miracle mixture of our little girl's.
Abigail is not afraid to get elbow deep into her mud hole. Here it is just her hand, but this morning we were again playing in the hole and she was in so deep it was hilarious. Then she started flapping her arms, mud was slinging everywhere.
The initial cleaning up must be done outside with the hose, or in this case just the faucet as the hose was moved for Daddy to mow.
This is Abigail yesterday morning heading out the door for church. She had a nice bath the night before to wash her hair and get all the deep down dirt off, and boy do we think she cleaned up pretty well.
As we've mentioned before Josiah got a Lamb when he was born similar to Abigail's Mimi. We have given it to him at naps for a long time, and more recently bedtime too, in hopes it will become his treasure like hers. When I lay him down for his nap, most of the time he just grabs it, turns his head and closes his eyes. Now each evening when we check on him before going to bed ourselves, he is always snuggled up tight with his Lamby. Thanks again Jean and Vernon!! Oh, and by the way, Abigail's Mimi has recently needed mending from all the love she's given it in the last nearly 3 years. I had to sew on new paws.
Today Abigail wanted to play with her legos, something we've been doing a lot of recently in the afternoons when it is way too hot to be outside. Here she is beside the tower she built herself. She is kind of in a stage where she doen't want her picture taken, so I sort of tricked her. She said she wanted me to take a picture of the tower, but not her, I said why don't you point at it. So she did, then asked, did you take a picture f my finger too. Yes, I told her, she doen't need to know it also included the rest of her body too.
Josiah has stared to do what most kids do, crawl and play under the kitchen table. After all its a whole new world under there. Here he is from my prospective on the outside. I caught him at just the right time, it so looks like he's waving, but he was just smaking the chair, and had his hand up when I snap the camera. Pretty cute stuff though.
Daddy and Josiah enjoyed a nice game of Get You after dinner the other night. John and Josiah were in the living room and then Josiah started to crawl away like he wanted John to chase him, kind of crawling a bit, then looking back, then crawling some more. When John took up the chase, Josiah sped up and just laughed. Fun times!
Abigail has always liked to help me make things. Recently we have started making the bread for communion at our church. Its a simple sourdough recipe our friend Karen gave us, but its fun to do with her. From start to finish she helps me out, and she is so proud to take "our bread" to church. And she loves it when people tell her how good it is. Here she is helping to stir the flour into the "mother dough."
Abigail's absolute favorite part of the bread baking process is punching the bread down after it has had a chance to rise overnight. She loves to watch it sink down. When I ask her at the end of the day what her favorite thing we did today was, she will always say, "punching the bread." Sometimes even if we hadn't done it that day, but days before. She is so much fun!
Here is Abigail ever so delicately spreading the dough out in the pan to let it rise some more. When asked what we would do with it next, she just smiles, raises her arms in the air, and yells, BAKE IT!!!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Today is Allison's third mother's day and her and Abigail celebrated by dressing up alike for church. They even both have purple toenails!
If you guessed Josiah you're wrong. I ran across this picture of Abigail the other day and just couldn't believe how much they look alike. Crazy!
Recently, since Josiah has been pulling up after his naps, I have been letting Abigail go in first off and greet him. Here they are shortly after yesterday's morning nap. He sure looks glad to see her. I usually stand at the door where he can't see me and just watch them, it's so darn sweet. He'll stoop down and reach through the slats and rub her face, or she'll climb up on the side and they'll just "talk." Cute stuff these kids of ours.
Here they are being so sweet holding hands, sometimes they just amaze me how sweet they are together.
Josiah is such a boy. One of his favorite things is to roll around and be rough on Abigail's bed. It's generally a guarenteed great time, no matter what his mood is before hand. Here he is midroll.
Here is Josiah enjoying the tunnel Bonky bought for Abigail last Easter. I wasn't sure if he would do it or not. But when I sat him down in front, and had Abigail at the other end, he went right on through, no hesitation. He did it quite a few times, and sometimes he'd stop in the middle, sit up and roll the tent a little bit, then laugh, and continue on his journey through. He's so silly!
Ever since Josiah was a tiny baby i've been telling Abigail that one day he would get bigger and be able to move and play with her more. The thing she was most excited about was playing "Jit you" This is how Abigail used to say Get you, when we would be chasing each other around the house. She would tell everyone we'd meet that one day Josiah would be big enough to play Jit you. Well here they are, the day she has waited for, playing some Jit you in the tunnel.
Our last post we said Josiah had been trying his hand at creeping. Well the next day he figured out how to get up on his knees and was off. We never thought he'd do the hands and knees thing, he just never seemed to be interested. But he did it so all of a sudden. He is crawling now pretty well, but still in slowmo. Here he is looking like he could maybe just stand up and walk right to me. He's eight months old today, and he's getting to be such a big boy, too fast!
Josiah is enjoying some time outside, here he is just about to taste a leaf. Daddy thinks he looks like he's ready to sing or something. I made sure I got it before he ate it, but still got this cute shot.
