The adventures of the Reilly family.
Sometimes Abigail is really impatient in the morning for her daddy to get up. She knows that he is inside that door somewhere, and this particular morning she was trying to pry the door open with her little fingers, saying Dada, Dada, too funny. But come on Abigail, what do you expect, you get up at 6 sometimes, that is a bit early.
Abigail has recently taken to playing on the front porch. She loves just running around, and climbing up into the porch swing that is sitting on the porch there. Yesterday she was playing ball with Grandma and Aunt Barb and took a break on the swing, isn't she just so beautiful?
Grandma Prysock came to visit this week, and while it took her a bit to warm up to Mom, by the last morning it was all snuggles. Here she is just enjoying a good morning snuggle. The coffee is Grandma's, not Abigail's. It was a great visit!!! Can't wait until Thanksgiving.
Here are the proud parents, looking pretty good even with a 4 day old baby. We think that Jarrett will be tall like his daddy, with those long arms and legs. He won't stay tiny for long. So precious!
Sweet little Jarrett Michael Henderson. I (Allison) got to go and see him yesterday, and what a sweet little nephew he is. So tiny, but so darn cute. He was born on 8-18-05, a little early, but he just couldn't wait to get into our world. Welcome sweet boy!
Abigail had a blast visiting with her cousins Samantha and Cynthia. Samantha is 4 and Cynthia is almost 2, but Abigail kept up with them just fine. They all jumped around on the mattress, but we were able to get a few good shots of them. Hard to get them all to smile at once, guess 2 out of 3 isn't too bad.
Sunday after church it never fails. Abigail falls asleep in the car seat. Usually I am not so skilled to get her out without waking her up a bit, but today was an exception. She was fast asleep and nothing would wake her. She was so cute hanging out all over the place that I had Allison take this picture of us. Look how big my little girl is. All arms and legs. She is getting to big. 13 months old this coming thursday.
One of Abigail's newest silly things to do is growl at you and make this "scary" face, you can still see a hint of a smile behind it though. I captured it perfectly I think. Maybe she was growling at the mess in our room from painting, or maybe she was growling because she didn't want her picture taken, but either way just imagine the little sound.
We were spending some time in Abigail's room the other day. And she really wanted to read a book to her daddy. But she did take time out to flash a big smile for the camera, she is too sweet. Don't you think?
I'm not sure how appropriate this is to post on the internet, but isn't it too sweet? Last night, right before her bath, we stripped Abigail down and let her run around nakey for a while. She always enjoys this, and gives us a great opportunity to take pictures that will embarrass her later on. My favorite part, which you can't see too well in this picture, is her tan line. After spending so much time outside, her little arms and legs are so brown, but her butt is still oh so white!
After looking at it I thought maybe the last photo of Abigail and her hippo was too dark. And that it didn't quite portray all the fun she was having. Here you can see her big ole smile bright and clear. We played all evening until it was almost bedtime. Of course she got a much needed bath before that as well.
After we played with the hippo for a while Abigail went to one of her messiest spots in the driveway. A big ole puddle. She emerged minutes later soaking wet and a little muddy, but who cares, she had fun. In this photo she is making one of her recent characteristic expresions where she tightens up and yells with joy. Moments later she plopped down, and even started to lick the puddle at one point. Splashing around on all fours soon followed, oh what fun a little water can be!
This is the first time that Abigail's hippo walker that Grandma Lowmiller gave her went outside. And let me tell you we are all exhausted after this adventure, the hippo most of all. I thought that the length of the driveway would be great. It was, we went up and back, up and back at least 20 times.
Here is Abigail, in her shirt, diaper, but with her sandles on. She is so funny how much she loves her shoes. But today she has been enjoying just playing most of the day in this ensemble. She is smiling so big while reading one of her favorite books about farm animals. She sure does love books too!
Now that Abigail is not nursing we usually snuggle up on the couch when she wakes up with her Lamby and a cup of milk instead. After a while of doing this on this particular morning Abigail kicked me off the couch, and just sprawled out on her own. She is shirtless because that is how I found her in the crib that morning. Well at least partially anyway, half of her shirt was off. But I thought this moment was too sweet not to share, I think the shirtless look is too funny, and she looks like such a big girl just laying there on the couch with her cup.
So Abigail had one of her favorite lunches today, a peanut butter and banana sandwich. This is not just one of her favs, but also one of the messiest too. She managed to rake some of the banana through her hair, creating the oh so fancy style you see. It has really good holding power, not to mention the great scent, someone should market this. She's also working on yet another tooth, hense the old bottle she's chewing on.
I've been wanting to get Abigail some clips for her hair, as the front is actually getting quite long. So when we were at Wal-Mart today I picked some up. She didn't mind it bein in there, and she looked so cute. I think you can see it in one of the Lamby photos. But it slipped out and was just hanging there from a little bit of hair, and she pulled it the rest of the way out, and held it in her hand as you see here, very amuzed.
Lamby has also been a great sport, I mean come on being drug around in Abigail's mouth can't be fun. I have all these pics of Abigail with Lamby today because she didn't want her put away. Generally I don't let her have Lamby other than to sleep or when she gets hurt, but today she insisted. We were looking at a book, and there was a picture of a lamb in it. I said look there is a lamb like Lamby. She whipped around, pointed up at her crib, where she knew Lamby was, and cried until I got Lamby down. So she kept her with her the rest of the time. This picture is funny, she was scooting around on her knees with Lamby just dangling out.
Lamby has been a great pal. Most of the time it's an instant fix if Abigail is upset, give her Lamby and she snuggles up and gets her thumb. I attribute her being able to go to sleep on her own so early on to Lamby. And now I know she could never sleep without her.
Abigail LOVES her Lamby. It's a lamb's head with a blanket for the body, really cute. She got it from our friends Jean and Vernon, and she has become so attached to it. As you see here they are having a great time rolling on the floor.
Abigail loves fruit, she acutally gets pretty hostile when anyone around her is trying to eat some. Sometimes I let her take a little bite out of my apple when i'm eating one. But in this particular picture she wanted it all for herself apparently. She took a few little bites out of it, and I managed to get it back to finish it off. She is so funny to watch trying to eat it, with her mouth open wide, then the crunch when her teeth made contact.
