This past Friday we went to the Pittsburgh Zoo. What's great is that it took us 8 minutes to drive there from our house. That's awesome. We bought some season passes, because I know we will be back.

The kids had a lot of fun, but boy did we get worn out by the end. It's a good thing we live so close.

This is a picture of Abigail and Josiah in front of a giant (about 25" tall) inflatable elephant that is just inside the zoo gates. Here are some pictures from our day with more to follow in a day or so.

I don't know why this giant metal praying mantis is right inside the zoo gates, but I thought it would be appropriate to have Allison and Abigail praying along with him.

Here's a fact for you: I (John) hate praying mantises (or is that manti?). It weirds me out that they can turn their heads like people. I think they are the only animals with a neck. Creepy.

AND the girls eat their mates!!!! SUPER CREEPY!!!!

Here is a monkey we saw on our trip. No really, this is Abigail's reaction to seeing some of the big cats. She had such a fun day at the zoo, but boy were they exhausted at the end.

Here's the first animal you see when you enter the zoo. Two large tigers resting on these rocks. What was great was that we got there right at opening so it was cool. Because it was cool the animals, especially the cats, were very active. It was great.

Here he is....the King of the Pittsburgh Jungle. Like I said, because the weather was so cool when we first arrived, the cats were especially active. In fact, he was about 20 feet away from us and he agave us a great surprise.....HE ROARED!!!!

No kidding. I have never heard one of these big cats roar before. It was pretty amazing.

Today the Reilly's took an adventure where we had never gone before....Chuck E Cheese!!!! We were all invited for Abigail's little friend Caleb's 3rd birthday party. Fun was definitely had by all. Here are the kids ready to brave the adventure together. On the way in, Abigail grabbed Josiah's hand and they held hands the whole way in, the are the best of friends, for now. I love it!

While he looks a little stunned here, I think that this was Josiah's favorite thing. He didn't even care if it was moving or not. He just sat and steered the wheel and yelled, BEEP, BEEP!!! He even stuck his arm in Chuckie's mouth once.

Josiah really enjoyed crawling around the tunnels, I (Allison) didn't so much, hard on the knees. But it was fun to see him get excited about each new thing up there. Here he is, as John snaps the pic, yelling for his DADA!

I know, I know, I just blogged a bunch of them sleeping. But isn't this too cute to pass up. He woke up from his nap the other day, but then fell back to sleep on me on the couch, I eventually just had to go to the bathroom, so I got up, thinking he'd wake up for sure. He didn't he, just kept on being cute, and sleeping. He has taken to wanting to bring his Lamby and blanket with him when he first wakes up, it is so cute, but a bit excessive when he's trying to walk around with one over each shoulder.

Here she is! The Mommy of the hour. Somehow a tradition started when Abigail was little that her and Allison would dress alike on Mother's Day. Josiah has since joined in. I couldn't resist taking a picture with all three of them in their matching yellows.

Its hard to believe that this is Allison's fourth "official" Mother's Day already. It seems like just the other day we were bringing home Abigail from the hospital. Now we are expecting number three. That's right...we are due to have another little one in December! We're very excited!

Allison is such a good mom. Our kids eat well, play well, behave well, and it is all due to her good parenting. Staying home with these two crazies is something I would have a hard time doing, but she does it with ease.

So what did she get for Mother's Day? Abigail made her a door hanger and a homemade card. AND there are two other presents that will be revealed later!

I love that Josiah likes to snuggle. Abigail does now, but it took her a long time to get into it. He's always been so lovey. And recently he's really been into waking up from a nap, then sitting on the couch with me, and falling back to sleep on me. It is so precious!
