The adventures of the Reilly family.
This Christmas Eve Abigail and I sat in my new recliner (a Christmas present from Allison) and ate some popcorn while we watched Charlie Brown's Christmas. This was the first time Abigail really ever had popcorn so it was a special moment for me and her. She sure did have a great time.
So Josiah discovered his tongue the other day. So for like 3 days he kept sticking it out all the time. Here he is practicing his new move. Check out that red Irish nose and blushed cheeks too, cute stuff.
This week we have been so busy making cookies for the holidays. It took me a while to let go and really let Abigail help, but then it was so fun. She loves helping out in the kitchen. Here she is making a jar of ingredients for a gift, she's scooping in some raisins. We also made sugar cookies that same day. Scroll down for pictures of that experience.

Here is Abigail surrounded by what used to be a whole spool of jute. I had sat it down to get some scissors so we could decorate the jars, and when I came back I found this. What a mess, but it was too cute to not take a picture of. It took me like 30 minutes to wrap it all back up.
Here is Josiah in his doorway bouncer for the first time. He looks a little like another cute Reilly I know, with his arm all down through the leg hole.
Abigail is learning to dress herself, and most of the time she gets it right. As part of this I let her pick out her clothes, well the other day she really wanted to wear her bibs. Then she said she wanted Josiah to wear them too. So here they are matching cuties.
Here is Abigail on the swing on her belly the other day. She had never done it before. But she saw Noah do it, so of course, monkey see, monkey do!
Our little guy is getting so strong, and he actually likes doing tummy time. But last Sunday, while I (Allison) was taking a nap, he rolled from his tummy to his back for the first time. Kinda bummed that I missed it but he has done it a couple times since then, he's growing too fast.
Here is Abigail and her friend Noah at the park today. I think he looks a little concerned about her driving.
Here she is telling Noah just what he can do with his advice. In a reality the two played so well together, and there was no picking involved, but it's funny to give the picture some life.
The other day I heard Abigail just making quite a noise at her kitchen, and when I asked her if she was cooking me something she said, "No, i'm fixing my kitchen." So here she is using the phone as a screwdriver. Last week John moved the fridge and cleaned behind it, which is where I think she got this idea, it's amazing how she picks up on everything.
Here is our sweet little man with his first gilmpse of the Christmas tree last weekend when we set it up. He especially liked checking out his face in the Christmas balls.
So Abigail doesn't quite get the difference between a sock and a stocking. Well I think she does, but here she is giving her stocking a try as a sock anyway.
Here is a great shot of Josiah's beautiful eyes. We were outside for a little fresh air and I took the camera with me to get some shots of Abigail and Josiah playing in T-shirts, because it was Dec. 1st, there is just something not right about that. But it was like 70 degrees. Anyway, here he is on his 3 month birthday. I also had the nurse come to the house and weigh him yesterday and he is now 15 lbs and a half ounce. He is also 26 inches long. It's really becoming hard to hold him because he's so big, but can't really hold his own yet. But he is getting stronger and is but days away from rolling over.
Here is a picture of Josiah talking to his Bonky Sunday afternoon. He had just woken up from his nap, and as usual was quite the happy little guy. John put the phone up to him, and he cooed right into it to say "hello." I also think he was saying he can't wait to see you, only a couple of weeks left.
This year for Christmas we are beginning some new traditions for our family. The season of Advent, a period of time between the fourth Sunday before Christmas and Christmas, is a season that the church celebrates the Second Coming of Christ by looking back at His First Coming.
December 1st...that is our "early date" for putting up Christmas decorations. This weekend we spent some time putting up the lights and Christmas trimmings. Saturday Abigail helped me (John) put up the tree. I know it does not look like much of a tree, but it did after she got done putting on her finishing touches. We had a great time finishing decorating after church on Sunday. It was great to have her help out this year. She loved it so much.
Here is our "little" man with his future sweetheart Ella Grace. There is a mere 2 months between them, but he looks like a giant compared to her. We think that it is so funny to see them side by side. But look, she's already reaching out to touch our big guy. Speaking from experience there is something about a big guy that makes a woman feel safe. (I mean John and I look about like these two when we lay side by side)
The other day Abigail wanted to Playdough, and asked for me to make a snowman (nothing new). But I decided it would be fun to make a snowman out of all the colors we have. Abigail really got into it, especially when I said we would take a picture afterward. Here she is posing with our creations. I hope we get some snow this winter so we can make a real snowman.
