The adventures of the Reilly family.
I (John) have a lot to post and I thought this would be a good place to start. Allison is riding on a kids bike. That is funny.
Samuel still lives in the realm of eat:sleep:poop:repeat, so he really doesn't know what's going on much. However, he had a fun time swinging with Aunt Beckie.
Pappy and their neighbor Jeff got out the tractor to clear some brush. This perked Josiah right up. He immediately wanted to go outside and be around the tractor. He is such a man.
There was no way that Josiah could have been around this tractor and not climbed up on it. Jeff let him climb on up and play the part.
If Josiah does it...his sister has to as well. Here is Abigail posing for her tractor close-up.
After all was said and done, Josiah finished playing with the tractor and went to work. Here he is dragging a heavy logging chain for Pappy and Jeff.

Camp fires aren't something kids normally see in the city. It's one of the paradoxes I have of raising kids in the city, but having grown up in the country. I want my kids to experience fun things like camp fires, the woods, tractors, animals, and chasing lightning bugs.
Abigail could care less about fire and outdoor experience. She only wanted the spoils. Here she is enjoying her smore.
We really like playing with Legos. Aunt Beckie bought Abigail some blocks a few years ago. Since then we have logged many hours and added a lot more blocks to the collection.
This is our favorite part! Once we build the tower Josiah loves to smash it. I set our camera on a fast shutter speed to get the blocks flying through the air. If you click on the picture and see a bigger version you can see the top part of the tower is floating in the air while the middle goes flying.
After all that hard work on the tower and then the following destruction of said tower...we decided to read a bit. I don't know why he decided to wear a hat, but when you're 2 years old PJs and hats go.
Abigail and Josiah reading together on the couch this morning. He had his own book, but it was lying on his lap. She looks so into it, which she was.
The other day the kids came across a pair of pantyhose that John had for a game for youth group. Abigail knew the gist of the game was putting the hose on your head and swinging it around, so that's what she did. Here she is posing. And yes, she does have a bathing suit on, she wanted to wear it around the house that day after I had her try it on.
Here are Josiah and Samuel hanging out on the couch. Josiah looks rather chubby and silly with his face all squished like that. Cute boys!
Today I noticed that Samuel has a new trick. He has found out how to control his hand enough to purposely hold them together over his face and look at them. He just kept doing it over and over. Oh, if his attention would always be that easy to keep.
Abigail was the star of the week this past week at her preschool. As part of the honor she gets a bulletin board dedicated just to her. On Monday she got to bring in pictures of herself to put up. We let her pick them out, and most of them were her doing things with her family. Then the kids in the class interviewed her, and posted the answers on the board. The questions were things like what's your favorite food, to which she answered:broccoli and what do you want to be when you grow up, a baby doctor, she says. On Wednesday she got to bring in a special stuffed animal to share with the class, she took her Mimi. And all week she got to hold the flag for the pledge of allegiance, and be the teacher's special helper. She's always been our star, and it was fun to see her shine at school this week too!
We bought this shirt last year when we first found out we were having another baby. We thought it was just too funny. And our little guy made it in just in time.
Josiah in the midst of pouting about something. He was trying to cover his face, but I got the picture just in time.
I think I speak for everyone here in the Reilly house, we are ready for Spring. It's been a long, cold, snowy winter here in the 'Burgh. Josiah got in the spirit the other day while we were playing, inside, of course, cause it was like 20 outside.
Samuel is very into this story his big brother is reading him. I love the way Josiah loves him, he's such a great big brother!
