The adventures of the Reilly family.
What can we say, she is silly! Really we put the box on her head as a distraction from the crackers we were eating way too close to lunch. It worked and she got a huge kick out of her new hat and didn't really care that we were munching. I think the broom in the one hand really adds to the ensemble.
When we went to the mailbox today we expected the normal junk. But much to our suprise there was a package for Abigail, and when we opened it there was this cute bear inside. Abigail was very suprised, I mean look at her face, and she said "BEAR!" (which is one of her new words) Thanks so much Aunt Mary Ann we love it!!!
After a bath yesterday Abigail was really shivering so I wrapped her tight in her towel. She really liked being like that and she was just so cute just sitting there all wrapped up we couldn't resist taking a picture.
Abigail sure does love her spaghetti. She is actually really good about not making a mess, well of anything but her face that is. She is so funny with that smile, she has a beautiful smile when you get her smiling naturally. But if you ask her to smile this is what you get, still cute, but not so natural.
I'm not sure why or when she first decided to hide in this cabinet, but it was within the last couple weeks. But anyway, she sits in there and tries to shut herself in, as you'll see in the next photo. The she'll say "shhh, shhh" which means she's hiding. And sometimes, she'll even say, "Abby, Abby" (which is what she calls herself) this means we're supposed to say "where's Abigail, Abigail" Then she pops out with great excitement. This was taken this morning before she had the meltdown over the oatmeal that was too runny and she poured on herself. I could have cared less, but she really didn't like to have it on her. This is the same girl that got so dirty this afternoon playing in the dirt I had to strip her to her diaper on the porch before we went back inside. Go figure! But man, I love her, and she's so darn cute.
Turns out that she doesn't really fit. But if she takes all of the plastic bowls out of the cabinet, as she does frequently, she actually does.
The other day while having her "nack" of Cheerios one got wet and stuck to her face. She thought it was pretty funny, well being silly Mommy that I am I proceeded to stick some more on her face. She is about to munch on one that was stuck to her chin. When I showed her what she looked like, she just laughed. We have some good times.
Abigail has been feeling pretty badly this week with a cold, something rare for her. But starting yesterday she's been pretty much back to normal, maybe even a bit more ornery. This morning she decided to wear Lamby on her head as she ate, guess it made stuff taste better.
Abigail is officially getting her last tooth, and it's been a doozy. It has made her sleep at night pretty rough and made her cranky. So the other day after a really early rising she decided Mommy was just comfy enough to take a little nap. And you know what? I let her, cause it was just too darn sweet. Our little girl is quickly getting not so little and she stretches out so far when she's laying on me, but I still remember that tiny little thing from not so long ago. Look at her, isn't she too precious?
It's great to be a dad.
Ok, so today it was like 67 degress, but it's supposed to snow tomorrow. So we spent as much time outdoors as possible, and I took the camera along. Here is Abigail being too cute with a tree.
Abigail has only recently shown much interest in her stuffed animals, other than Lamby of course. Here she is snuggled up after piling many of them in her chair. Some of them still have the tags on, I was a good mommy and removed them after I realized if she really is going to play with them, they shouldn't have tags.
This evening right before bed I decided to tuck Abigail into our bed just to see what she'd do. She has never spent a night here, so I knew I wasn't risking making her think it was for the night. Well she just snuggled in nice as could be with her Lamby and got good and cozy. But when the night really came to an end she was happy to be snug in her crib.
Abigail and I have had a few tea parties since she got the tea set for Christmas, but today she decided to invite some friends. And as you can see some very big name celebs showed up. I set up the pillows but she pretty much took care of the rest of the set up, including the green beans. She is helping her duck drink some tea in this picture. Most of the rest of the time was spent moving around the guests into various seats.
