The adventures of the Reilly family.
A few months ago a house on the edge of our neighborhood caught on fire. This past week they tore it down and we got to watch for a bit. Later on the kids posed with the machinery. Here is the little man by the big loader. Of course, the thought it was very cool. And even now when we walk down there he'll say, "Down, all done, trash!" and then make some sort of machine noise. We thought Pappy would really like these pics, so Bonky, make sure to show him.

A silly little gliding boy. This picture freaked John out a bit when he saw it shortly after coming home from his trip, he thought the pony tail was Josiah's. It is not, it's Abigail, she's sitting behind him on the glider.
Josiah was itching to get a cupcake once he saw them, here he is moments before the big bite!
One of the only things Abigail asked for for her birthday was a pair of binoculars so she could see the animals at the zoo better. Here she is testing them out right away. Inside the effect is not quite the same.
I think that she really liked her new binoculars, especially once she got them outside.

John is away on a missions trip, so me and the kids traveled to his mom's to have a tiny party for Abigail's birthday on the actual day. It was a great time, and there will be more pictures posted tomorrow, but I just couldn't go to bed without posting this one. This is John's mom with wrapping paper on her head, silly!
Here is Josiah talking to his Daddy on the phone the other day. He has only recently started saying anything on the phone at all, but when he does it's so cute. He would say, Dada? Love you! I was holding him and snapped this pic as he talked to him early yesterday morning from his missions trip. Miss you Daddy!
Abigail has missed her Daddy so much, here she is talking to him on the phone from Bonkys. She even said Daddy, i'm talking on two phones. One is a play one of course.
This was by the the funniest part the the whole party. Abigail loves Duck, Duck, Goose, and requested we play it at the party. Well, I took for granted that everyone knew how to play. I explained the rules, but some didn't quite get it even then. As soon as the first two were running, half the other kids got up and started running too. Pretty soon, they were all mostly just running around in a circle ,with a few cutting across the middle for good measure. Generally the older kids would sit and watch, like geesh, get it together.
A cute spin on the old Pin the tail on the Donkey game. This game you had to pin the topping on George's ice cream. We think that maybe there was some peeking going on, but who knows. Kiara won the Curious George bubble bath all the same.

It was finally that time of the evening. Present time! Abigail couldn't have been more excited!
How appropriate that the first thing she opened was a big bag of Curious George books. Abigail loves books and she loves Curious George, the theme for the party. Thanks Nathan, she loves them!
Abigail got her first Bible when she turned 2. Since then we have read a story from it every night before she goes to sleep. In those two years it has seen a lot of wear, so we decided to get her a new one. She was so excited about it and wanted to begin reading right away.
We're not sure exactly what she's saying. But we think this picture is too funny, look at that face. She is truly setting her friends straight about something.

Each day when Josiah lays down, Abigail and I spend some time just us before she lays down. She usually pics to play a game or practice her letters, so what better gift than one that combines both I thought. We played it today, and it was fun. She won both times, of course. She wins a lot when we play, and I don't let her, she's just that good.
Abigail got first dibs on the cupcakes, and she chose a nice yellow one. She is crazy sweaty, but still so pretty.
Caleb is determined to give his sister the BLUE cupcake. We think it's because he wanted her yellow one.

This short trucker with a sweet blonde mullet stopped by the house the other day. We decided to keep him.
It's that time of year again, lightning bug catching time! We let the kids stay up until they were out last night. And as I was too busy running around with them there weren't any pictures taken of them actually catching them. But here is Abigail looking up at her container full just before bed. She likes to fall asleep while watching them blink. Then while she's asleep, they "go home" in other words, John takes them back outside. It was a good time! Especially watching Josiah do it for the first time, trying to catch them that always seemed to be out of reach.
Josiah's first smoothie! Good times, good mess! Today at lunch I thought i'd give it a go. He really enjoyed it, though because it was mostly raspberries it was all red, and it kinda looks like someone punched him in the face. Oh well, it was a nice treat for us all!
Ta Da! The new bunk bed! Of course with number 3 on the way something needed to be done about the sleeping arrangements. After much thought, we decided to put Josiah and Abigail together in her room, (soon to be their room) in bunk beds. We set them up last week and she loved them! She certainly loves them, and thinks sleeping up so high is so cool. Josiah will move in in a few months, for now he still needs the caged inness of his crib.
The day before we put the bunk bed up the kids had a blast jumping on the mattress as it was in the living room. It was at first sitting up against the wall, but that didn't last long. Here they are having a ton of fun. Check out that hair!
I know its been a while, so i've dug some pics from the archives. This is from a nice sunny day a few weeks back. Josiah and Abigial chilling not by the pool, but in the pool. NICE!!! They had a great time just kicking and splashing. They are so cool!
Big pouting session ensued when Abigail realized that her chair does not have cup holders. She would not look at the camera. She is definitely all girl in so many ways. But I love her so much!

We had a great time with family over the holiday, sweet Abigail is still as cute as ever in her festive skirt. Even though it was raining it didn't dampen her spirits at all.
Here is Abigail enjoying one of her favorite activities, swinging. It really didn't matter to her that it was raining. She is here with her second cousins Jack and Gus. Jack (the one in the middle) apparently didn't want to smile, silly boy!
