I made lasagna for Josiah's birthday, he loves pasta, so there ya go. Bonky and Pappy came up for dinner and we had a great time. Here he is right before dinner, and after spotting the garlic bread. What a face!
We didn't have to tell him what to do, he already knew. And Josiah blew out his candle like a pro.
Josiah did a great job this year, no bath necessary, just a little around the edges.
Josiah need no help this year, though Abigail volunteered some anyway, with opening his gifts. He ripped right in. He loved everything he got, and we had to strongly encourage him to move on to a new gift to open because he was so busy looking at what he had just opened. He even cleaned up his own paper and would run it out to the kitchen trash can. What a silly boy!
As we've mentioned before in previous blogs, the kids love the trash man. So Josiah got a toy trash truck for his birthday from his Bonky. What a great gift. It looks exactly like our trash man's truck.
This birthday was full of boy toys for Josiah. Lots of tools and trucks. Here is Abigail and he trying out the new set.
Josiah has always enjoyed playing with other kids' mowers, so we got him one of his own for his birthday. He looks pretty excited about the picture at least.
Josiah's favorite present was definitely his drill. He is such a big man, and oh so handsome!
Not sure how to spell the sound that Josiah makes when he sees or uses a drill, but its really cute. Here he is making the sound and pointing his drill at something.
Abigail was really good at getting the mower to produce bubbles, you had to go really fast.
Some good times in the pool the other day. Like Josiah's swimtrunks? They were on sale, I got 'em at Target.
Abigail has always loved these foam letters we bought her for her first bday. Of course at first she just played with them however, but now she knows her alphabet and loves to make an alphabet path. Here is my sweet girl putting it together.
Saturday was community days here in our township. We got to do lots of fun stuff, including free fire truck rides. They even let the kids wear the real fireman's hats. It was a really fun time.
We walked to the park from our neighborhood, but Josiah was a bit worn out on the return journey so her rode on John's shoulders. Here he is trying to switch hats with Daddy.
Josiah just got to watch Abigail on the inflatable, it was still fun with his free sucker.
Josiah woke up from a nap on Sunday a little grumpy, he made up for it by falling back to sleep in Daddy's recliner. Sweet stuff.
A few weeks back we went to the zoo in the evening, it was fun to see the animals at different times. Here is one of our own animals posing in front of the sign, she was definitely one of the cutest we saw.
Abigail and Josiah loved to wrestle with Daddy, and i'm sure if you asked him, Daddy would say he likes it too. The other night they were doing just that, and here are the kids trying to pin his legs down.
I went to wake Josiah up from a nap not too long ago, and this is how I found him. He was all tucked in, something he had done himself., because when I had left him he was jumping up and down in the crib. How very sweet!
Ok, i'm almost finished with the back log of pics to blog. The next 4 are from our church picnic we had a few weeks back. This is of Josiah climbing the wall on the playground at the park we had it at. He's getting so big!
I love this picture! Abigail looks really into kicking that football, but Nathan has other things in mind. At least the laces are out.
We've owned our van since Mother's Day, but we hadn't washed it, our driveway is really steep and I can't reach the top. But a few weeks back we all went to our church and washed it in it's parking lot. As pictures showed last year, Abigail loves putting on her bathing suit and doing tihs task, she'd been asking to do it for ever. While John was prepping things the kids played int the giant rock pile out back at the church.
The three washers hard at work. I didn't really do a whole lot, but take pictures and make sure the kids didn't soap what was already clean.
