I want to go out.
Sweet Samuel. Still a little bit too little to go in the snow. Bonky stayed inside with him after he woke up from his nap. Here he is looking so forlornly out the window. He is still holding onto his birthday balloon. I love him!
The adventures of the Reilly family.
Sweet Samuel. Still a little bit too little to go in the snow. Bonky stayed inside with him after he woke up from his nap. Here he is looking so forlornly out the window. He is still holding onto his birthday balloon. I love him!
Bonky brought some kids' sized snow shovels for the kids. They had a great time with them in the snow.
Abigail didn't want to bother shoveling the driveway. She wanted to shovel the yard. HA!
Josiah worked so hard to help Daddy clear the driveway. He and Abigail even helped clear the neighbors drive too.
The kids were so excited to see the snow when they woke up. What a fun surprise, and it was extra special that Bonky was able to enjoy it with us.
Samuel's favorite part of his bday festivities. He still pulls that balloon around the house. Love him!
How incredible that its been a whole year since we had our little sweet Samuel. (and even more incredible that it took me a week to post these pics) We just had a simple celebration here at the house, with decorations set up by the big kids and Mommy and Daddy, and then the 5 of us enjoyed a good dinner and cake, and after the birthday boy had a bath, he opened a few gifts. Here's the cake, though Samuel had his own personal smash cake (free compliments of Giant Eagle). Love you little guy! Happy Birthday!
As most birthday kids with their first experience with cake, especially one as big as his head, Samuel was a little unsure. He just poked at it for a little while, but as you'll see in the pics to follow he figured it out just fine.
Abigail and Josiah giving Samuel some pointers on how best to attack the cake.
For the longest time Samuel just licked off the icing that got on his hand from the initial plunge. It was really funny.
He is most definitely one of the silliest, sweetest boys ever. He is just laughing in this picture. I love it!
Samuel took no time getting into the unwrapping of his gifts. He's really serious about those tub toys.
Samuel loves his big bag of blocks. Big brother and sister made sure they were dumped out everywhere almost immediately.
This past week we got to experience one of the delights of being a parent of a kindergartner... Christmas program! Here is Abigail and her classmates singing strong. This particular song was Up on the House Top and they had red and green scarves they would wave up and down in time with the song. It was really, really cool and amazing how these little guys could really keep a beat.
This was such a cute song about a snowman. All week long she kept saying she was going to sing a song about a snowman, we assumed it was Frosty, but she said it wasn't. It wasn't after all, it was a much cuter song with sweet little motions. Look at her so into it all!
A couple weekends back we set up our Christmas tree. And much to my surprise Samuel was very well behaved during the whole process. He didn't even bother anything, and still hasn't really much even weeks later. He did, however, really enjoy this bell for quite some time.
Josiah and Abigail did such a great job helping put up the tree this year. There wasn't any fighting, they listened (most of the time), and they worked so hard. They had an assembly line working to put the tree together. One would take pieces out of the box, while the other would spread the branches and Daddy put them in place. Daddy put up the lights, but they pretty much did the rest. It looks great!!!
Samuel has been taking a few steps since about Thanksgiving. He is always so proud of himself. Here he is practicing in the open space that was left by moving the chairs downstairs to make room for the Christmas tree.
Every three months or so we make a big...BIG...trip to Sam's Club and Giant Eagle to stock up for our family of five. We make it into a big event for the kids.
When we got home this is what Samuel looked like. He was all snapped into his seat, but his coat had scooted up while he slept.
This morning Josiah and I went to get our haircut. We tried a new place. Since moving to Pittsburgh a few years ago I have searched for a permanent place, but haven't settled. So this morning we tried SportsClips at the WaterWorks.
This past week we spent the Thanksgiving holiday at Grandma's. It was actually pretty nice outside on thanksgiving day, so we went out and played!!! The kids had a great time climbing in some trees.
