This past Saturday we went to the park as a family, maybe the last time just the three of us. John captured this photo of Abigail and I on our way in to have some fun. But tell me, can you tell i'm 9 months pregnant?
This evening Abigail requested Bonky's blanket and pillow. Then she proceeded to prop the pillow up in her little rocker, sit down then cover herself up with the blanket. You can't see her purse laying beside the chair, but it's there too. We think she looks like a little old lady set to knit something.
I know it is a bit late, but I wanted to post this picture. Five years ago my beautiful bride and I were married. It seems like forever ago, yet it has only been five years. I don't know what life would be like without my wife. And I really never want to find out. God has blessed me with the most perfect helper in my life. She is the image of what a wife is supposed to be. She loves me. She kicks my butt when I am in need. And she is a wonderful mother.
This past Friday evening we had a swimming party with our church, it was a great time. Abigail loves to swim and especially likes it when we get to go to the "big" pool, which equals anything that is bigger than the baby pool in our back yard. She mostly likes being in her froggy float (in the next picture), but when she's not in that she feels better and super safe and happy to be swimming when her Daddy's got her. Look at them, aren't they so sweet?
Abigail had so much fun "swimming" in her froggy the other night. She would just giggle and say, "swimmin'" but in all reality Mommy or Daddy were the ones pulling her around. Either way though she really is stinkin' cute and we had a great time.
I've always heard that in the upcoming weeks before a baby comes home that a mother kicks into nesting mode and cleans everything. Well John and I have been busy, scrubing carpets and cleaning those corners that have thus far been a little neglected. Here is a sweet picture of Abigail lending a helping hand to get her brother's room ready for his arrival. About 2 weeks to go, YIKES!
A couple of weeks ago we had our Bible school at church, and it had a Noah's ark theme. As part of the program on Sunday morning all the little ones wore masks and got to walk up on stage and through the big ark that was built on stage. Here is our little elephant, when it came time to choose she picked the mask out herself, and said she wanted to be an elephant, and then made a noise like one and swung her arm near her nose like an elephant's trunk. It was so cute to see her walking up on stage like a big girl. We were so proud of her, all week she participated with the 3 year old class. It was amazing to see our little girl walking around from place to place with her class holding her buddy's hand, then she'd just wave at us. She is growing up too fast!
Total side note, that I think is funny. I was doing something in the kitchen and Abigail comes out wearing these orange pants, she had decided to change her clothes all on her own, so funny. She really is the silliest looking elephant i've ever seen.
It was really rainy today so we had to find some indoor things to do. Here is Abigail taking building her block tower very seriously. I think the way she is sititng makes her look like such a big girl, can't believe she's two already.
Abigail loves the outdoors. One of her favorite things to do is to swim in her pool. Sure, it is only about 8" deep, but to her...it's the ocean.
