Lookin like my brother
I chose this one because I think he looks so much like Josiah in this one. It's crazy!
The adventures of the Reilly family.

Today was very nice here in the 'burgh. Just before dinner it was in the mid-50s so we decided to take a walk. We walked around our neighborhood and caught up with a lot of neighbors. After our walk I, John, wanted to get some pictures of the kids in the sun. Josiah, being his ornery self, kept dodging the camera making it hard to get him.
Here is Abigail pulling some of the dead ornamental grass out of our flowerbed. We cannot wait for spring to come so that we can work and play outside again!
This past week we've begun a process we did with each of our other kids. Allowing them to learn to put themselves to sleep. It's pretty hard at first, more for us I think, listening to them cry, but in the long run it is such a great thing. Samuel has taken right to it, and really only cries for a few minutes now when I lay him down for a nap. Here he is shortly after falling to sleep this morning, he didn't even cry then, he just watched his mobile and drifted off. How sweet!
Josiah need to do some work beside big sis as she did her's. He looks a little shocked.
So, yes, she is doing homework. And she is excited about it. Her teacher had some parents ask for homework to be sent home to get the kids ready for preschool. So she has started to do that, it's totally optional, but of course, our Abigail wants to do it. She was so excited, she was doing it at the kitchen table, but said when she does "real" homework she's going to do it at her desk in her room. I can't believe she'll be in Kindergarten this fall. Our big girl!
First let me say, these kids are so cute!!!! This is Abigail and Josiah over at their friend Josh's house the other day. I had forgotten my camera, but luckily Josh's mom had hers there. She snapped this great photo that maybe we'll be able to she them when they're all grown up and famous.
I picked this picture not because it was particularly cute, though he is pretty cute, huh?(John thinks he looks like he is flying). I picked it because of the funny story that goes with it.
One of our favorite things to do it to take walks around the neighborhood. It's been a very cold winter so we haven't done it for a long time. But this past Wednesday it was 60 so we were able to go outside quite a bit. Here we are, Samuel included, on a nice walk. The poor kid had barely ever breathed fresh air, but I think he enjoyed it. He slept the whole time! And Abigail and Josiah were really excited to get out and about too. Of course we ran into many neighbors that got to meet our sweet Samuel for the first time. It was a great day!
Last Saturday it was a pretty nice day, a little muddy, but very nice. While Daddy was off working on the hoop house, the kids and I went outside (minus Samuel he was taking a nap inside, still a bit chilly for him). Here is our sweet big boy in his camo sweatshirt. He insisted on the hood being up and he wore it around like that the whole time. Even after we came back inside, and had to strip him down to just underwear due to all the mud on his pants, he still kept on wearing that sweatshirt, hood up. He played like that until nap time. He is so silly!
Abigail posing so cute before taking a trip down the slide. How great it was to get outside for a change!!!
We were all very muddy after our adventure outside. No one really minded though. Here is Abigail just diggin away.
I took this picture last week, but when I tried to upload it something wouldn't work. I tried like 4 times, then gave up. So here is another shot.
This past Saturday I had a great time helping out some friends building a "hoop house" for the Pittsburgh Project pittsburghproject.org.
On of the toughest parts of our job was to break through the frozen ground. Even though we have had some warm days recently here in Pittsburgh, the ground was still frozen and tough to break.
This is like looking down the belly of a whale skeleton. While the aluminum frame went up quickly, the ends had to be framed out of wood and the exact measuring took a bit of time. That's me on the ladder and my friend Rob is handing me my tools as we make the frame for the door.
In order to keep the inside of the "hoop house" at just the right temperature, each end has two 5 foot fans that can regulate the heating and cooling. Here I am with Rob Gage framing in the bottom of the hole for the fan.
Here is Mark Williams, aka the mastermind behind this project. Mark works for The Pittsburgh Project as a community outreach coordinator. Here he is playing "foreman" as he stands with his hands in his pocket and watches me work
Sweet Abigail! How she loves her tu-tu! She will wear it all day and just dance, as you can see here.
Josiah with a giant icicle, inside. It's been so cold and snowy too go out, so John brought the fun in for him.
The other day Samuel dozed off while in his bouncy seat. Josiah, being the caring brother that he is brought him a toy to have. So here is Samuel snuggle up tight with Bert. A cute side story: Bert was one of John's favorite toys as a kid, so Bonky sent us this one when I was pregnant with Abigail. It's never really caught on with either of the two like John liked him growing up, but maybe Samuel will be the one.
